D23 Expo 2022: 15 Major reveals to Expect from Marvel

Disney’s D23 Expo 2022 is all set to take place on September 9 – 11. Disney might make many interesting announcements including Star Wars and other projects.

However, all eyes are on Marvel’s slate for this event. Although Marvel has released the timeline for Phase 5 & 6 in Comic Con 2022, it’s believed that they were saving a lot for this event.

Here are the major reveals you can expect from Marvel at D23 Expo 2022:

1 – Shang Chi 2

Shang Chi will have a greater role to play in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. This is supported by the fact the Shang-Chi 2 is already in development but Marvel hasn’t made it official. D23 Expo 2022 is the correct time for this.

The rumored titled for Shang-Chi 2 is Wreckage of Time but we will have to wait to see if this holds true. Marvel might not reveal anything else, not even the title and the director. Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton has already been signed for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Wonder Man.

Hence, the chances of him directing this movie are very slim. It’ll also be interesting to see the timeline when this movie will release.

2 – Wonder Man

Wonder Man is already in works and hence there’s a very strong possibility that Marvel Studios chooses to provide more update on this.

There was already an easter egg for Wonder Man in Guardians of The Galaxy 2 but that scene was later scraped. Wonder Man’s plot will provide the way for White Vision and West Coast Avengers in the MCU.

3 – Eternals 2

Marvel is not yet done with the Eternals. The average first part left a lot of room for characters to come back. Eternals will be there in Avengers 5 or 6 but it’s possible that we may an update for its sequel.

Patton Oswalt revealed it by mistake that Eternals 2 is in works in Chloe Zhao is set to return as its director. It’s time that Marvel makes it official.

4 – Werewolf by Night

Werewolf by Night is set to release this October. Music Composer Michael Giacchino will direct it. Marvel might provide more insight about this at D23 Expo 2022.

5 – Secret Invasion Teaser Trailer

The teaser trailer for Secret Invasion was already shown to the audience at Comic Con 2022. It’s time that Marvel makes it official and releases it to the world.

6 – Black Panther 2 – New Footage

Marvel Studios already revealed the teaser trailer for Black Panther at Comic Con. It’s possible that we may get another trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

7 – Spiderman 4

To defeat Kang, every hero’s helps will be needed. How can our friendly neighborhood Spiderman be left behind. The chances of Spiderman 4 getting announced are very slim but it will be great if Marvel announces this project.

8 – Deadpool 3

It’s surprising that Marvel Studios omitted Deadpool 3 from it’s Comic Con slate. This will be most anticipated movie announcement of this year. Shawn Levy has already been confirmed to direct this movie. It’s only a matter of time before we get an official release date.

With the slot of November 2023 out of the equation, there’s a lot of room left for DP to rule the theatres in 2024.

9 – Doctor Strange 3

Doctor Strange is a key character in the Multiverse Saga. The post credit scene of Doctor Strange 2 leaves a lot of open ends for a third part. America Chavez, Dormammu and Clea are already rumored to be in Doctor Strange 3. It’s possible that we may get some update about this.

10 – Moon Knight Season 2

Moon Knight Season 2 is surely in works and hence there are more chances of it being announced.

11 – Scarlet Witch Solo movie

A recently released Disney+ video ended in Scarlet Witch‘s red tiara which she wears. Other than that, it’s possible that Kang is keeping Wanda as a prisoner and may need her powers for his use. Hence, Marvel might announce an update about Scarlet Witch Solo movie.

12 – Armor Wars update

Armor Wars was announced way back in 2019. Since then, there hasn’t been any update about this show. This show will deal with Iron Man’s technology falling in wrong hands. It’s a wonder how this Marvel omitted this from it’s Comic Con slate. Marvel might be holding it back from D23 Expo 2022.

13 – Nova

There hasn’t currently been any update about Nova. It’ll be a Disney+ show and might find it’s place somewhere in Phase 6. Marvel might announce an update regarding this project.

14 – Fantastic Four Update

WandaVision‘s director Matt Shakman will direct Fantastic Four. But there hasn’t been any word on the cast. It’s possible that Marvel might announce some update about this.

15 – Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special Update

This project is neither a part of Phase 4 nor Phase 5 but is supposed to serve as an Epilogue to Guardians of The Galaxy 3. It’ll fill the gaps and give a brief about what all the Guardians have been doing after THE BLIP. It’s scheduled to release at the end of 2022.

Marvel omitted it from its Comic Con slate but now with only a few months left, it’s likely that we get some update about this.
