loki heres what you need to know

On June 9, Marvel Studios’ Loki’s first episode will air on Disney+. So how will this series go ahead and what is the plot for it? Loki series will take us into a different world where we’ll mostly see Loki and his different versions.

So, here’s what you need to know:

What is TVA?

Time Variance Authority (TVA) is an organization which first debuted in Marvel’s Thor comic book. Its an organization which monitors the timeline. It also captures and eliminates people who disrupt the natural flow of time or try to change it. Loki is also inspired by Bladerunner. People who have watched the movie will instantly find some similarity.

What is Loki about?

The real Loki which we saw throughout the MCU died in Avengers: Infinity War. Thanos was the one who killed him. But in Avengers: Endgame, Loki ran away taking the Tesseract with him. Now, if Tony Stark didn’t travel back to 2012 in the first place, none of this would have happened. So, it forms a loop and Marvel did clarify that putting Tesseract back in time by taking it from another time won’t affect the timeline. MCU even got away with it.

But where’s Loki? This is what the show will address.

The TVA has captured The God of Mischief because they’ve seen every possibility of what Loki has been or what he can become in the future. So, we’ll see all the possibilities of what he can become. So, there are many variants or alternate possibilities of Loki which will be addressed by the series. Also, the scenes which were there in the trailer can be of Earth where many wars took place.

As, the TVA protects the timeline, they need Loki’s help to find out who or what is causing the trouble with the timeline. We’ll even see a bit of romance of him with Lady Loki. All other variants of him except the one which we see here must die.

That is kind of the mission in the series. But in doing so, the protagonists of the show Loki and Mobius will come across evil things going across the TVA. This will lead to larger mystery which will then be further explored in Loki Season 2. The advantage with this series as Marvel can branch this into as many projects as they want can bend the scenarios in any way they want.

It’s the justification MCU needs to provide in this show at every point in such a way that it makes sense.

There’s a possibility of Lady Loki faking her death in the end and Loki getting attached to a lot of his variants.

What is the inspiration for Loki?

Marvel Studios has now earned the reputation of hiring top rated actors and creators for its projects. For this show too, they got Rick and Morty writer Michael Waldron to write it and produce it. Other than that, Bladerunner is also the inspiration for Loki’s plot.

What Loki Series will do for the MCU?

Despite the fact that Marvel gave a brief explanation for the timeline variation in Avengers: Endgame and got away with it, there are many people who remain discontented with it. This series will add further explanation for the time travel.

We’ll also see a child version of Loki – Kid Loki and also parts of previous Marvel movies. So, remember Thor 1 and Thor : The Dark World, which weren’t great as Phase 3 movies? This show is supposed to add more sense to those two movies. So, Marvel is getting very strong at WORD BUILDING.

WORD BUILDING is what I call the art of mentioning events, places and things time and over again so that the events get established as a fact. This is what they did with THE SNAP & THE BLIP in WandaVision and Falcon & The Winter Soldier.

Loki series is also the first project of MCU to give a glimpse of how the MULTIVERSE will look in the MCU. There’s also a possibility that the events addressed in Loki series may have an impact on some events of Doctor Strange : In the multiverse of Madness and Antman : Quantumania. This is because Michael Waldron is the writer for the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel too.

Also, the makers had enough time to include proper scenes and subplots which they couldn’t include in WandaVision and Falcon and The Winter Soldier. So, let’s hope that Loki doesn’t disappoint us.
