Is Loki Season 2 Trailer Out?

Yes, it is. The trailer begins with Loki and Mobius coming up to OB (Oroborus) to see if he can fix Loki’s issue of Time Slipping to which OB denies.

Loki is “timeslipping,” uncontrollably jumping around within his own timeline. This shouldn’t happen according to the TVA’s setup. The trailer also reveals a new version of the Marvel Studios intro, with red motifs throughout.

Loki is shown timeslipping to various places, including an interrogation room and a jet ski dealership, a nod to Mobius’ obsession with jet skis.

Loki Season 2 also seems to be set up sometime in 1970’s where Sylvie is working at a McDonald’s. She is wearing the ‘Employee of the month’ badge. There’s a glimpse of He Who Remains’ Citadel at the end of time.

Loki tries to expose Kang the Conqueror to the TVA, and you can also witness a multiversal war with different versions of Kang being targeted.

Hunter B-15, Ravonna Ren Slayer, and Miss Minutes return will also return. In fact you can see a desaturated version of Miss Minutes created by Victor Timely.

Stay tuned for more updates and Easter eggs as the excitement builds for Loki season 2!

What is the plot of Loki Season 2?

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Loki Season 2:

“‘Loki’ Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.”

Other than that all other details are kept hidden. But don’t worry I’ve got you covered and will provide you with a gist of season 2.

But first things first. If TVA is outside time, does it make sense that Loki is in a different TVA? Of course not. At the end of Loki Season 1, Sylvie by mistake sent Loki to TVA in the past. This is when He Who Remains has just formed the TVA but he’s feeding everyone the Timekeeper’s story.

Remember Miss Minutes explaining Loki about the time keepers when he first set foot in the TVA? Currently, everyone in the TVA believes that to be true.

This is the reason why Mobius does not have any memory of Loki.

Because of Time Slipping, Loki keeps switching in time from the past to the present and future. OB finds a way to temporary solution to this by giving him a device.

Loki Season 2 will feature an older Sylvie (played by Kate Dickie) running around the multiverse, pruning all the timelines created after she killed He Who Remains. An agent of TVA Hunter-X5 takes advantage of this chaos and becomes a Hollywood star in the 1970s.

The TVA then makes their priority to capture Hunter X-5 and send Loki and Mobius to stop him. That is when they run into our Sylvie (the one who killed He Who Remains) who is working at a McDonald’s.

All of this will happen in the first couple of episodes and hence Loki and Sylvie’s romance will still be at the centre of Loki Season 2.

Only Loki, Sylvie, Ravonna Renslayer and Victor Timely remember what happens in the future.

Every Loki except the Classic Loki will return.

How many episodes is season 2 of Loki?

Just like first season, Loki season 2 will also consist of 6 episodes.

Who is the villain of Loki Season 2?

An older variant of Sylvie played by Kate Dickie is the main villain of Loki Season 2. Victory Timely is the secondary villain.

You might remember Kate from Game Thrones as she played the role of Lysa Arryn.

It’s hard to tell how an older variant of Sylvie can emerge but again this is the multiverse anything can happen. Marvel Studios needs to provide a feasible explanation for anything that happens.

When is Loki Season 2 coming out?

Loki Season 2 starts streaming on Disney+ on 6th October 2023.

Here’s what Tom Hiddleston has to say on Season 2:

“I am so grateful that we got to do season one, I still am not quite able to process that we get to have another go at this. I am so excited by the possibilities. We are already in discussions. Deep, deep, deep discussions. I can’t wait to get started.

I want to say thank you to the audience because without the audience, we wouldn’t be able to make a season two,” he added. “I hope season one was full of surprises. And I think season two will be full of even more.”

Loki Season 2 cast

Marvel isn’t vocal yet on the cast but here are some actors who will be in the show:

  • Tom Hiddleston as Loki
  • Owen Wilson as Mobius
  • Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie
  • Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer
  • Ke Huy Quan as Oroborus
  • Tara Strong as Miss Minutes
  • Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15
  • Eugene Cordero as Casey
  • Jonathan Majors as Victor Timely
  • Rafael Casal in an undisclosed role
  • Kate Dickie in an undisclosed role
  • Liz Carr in an undisclosed role
  • Neil Ellice as Hunter D-90

Classic Loki actor Richard E Grant says anything is possible and that he might return but I think that is just to maintain the hype of the show.

As for the people behind the show, Marvel Studios is not bringing any of the previous ones. Eric Martin will be the lead writer for this show with Kasra Farahani, Jason O’Leary and Katharyn Blair being the co-writers for some of the episodes.

As for the direction, duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will be directing Loki Season 2.

My Thoughts:

Currently, Loki Season 2 looks promising and might be better than shows like She-Hulk, Secret Invasion and Moon Knight.

But I have fear that the new creators might mess Loki. Only time will tell what happens.
